Corrections & record disputes
Every record here comes from a government source, and government data is sometimes wrong or out of date. Records can also get mismatched between providers with similar names, and a licensed center is occasionally missing from the source data entirely. If something looks incorrect or a center you know is licensed isn't here, tell us — we take it seriously, especially when it reflects on a named business.
What we'll do
- Acknowledge your request within 2 business days.
- Review it against the official source record.
- Act promptly: if we can't confirm a record belongs to your provider, or it conflicts with the current official record, we will correct it, hide it, or attach a clarifying note — typically within 5 business days.
- Operators can also publish a verified response that appears alongside the record. We never alter the underlying government record itself; we control only how it is displayed here.
Note: we can change how a record appears on NYC Daycare Check, but only the issuing agency (DOHMH or OCFS) can change the official record. For that, contact the agency directly.
