About NYC Daycare Check

Choosing childcare in New York is a high-stakes decision, and the safety information that should inform it sits scattered across government portals that were never built for parents. We pull it together and make it readable.

Is this free? How do you make money?

Every government record is free: searching, the map, the full inspection history, comparison, and change alerts. Public safety records should be public, and we won't paywall them, ever.

What we charge for is the Safety Analysis — what we build on top of the records: a plain-English read of what the history means, a real peer ranking against other nearby centers, the multi-year trend, repeat-pattern detection, a cross-agency check that joins DOHMH inspections, state licensing, and building, lead-paint, construction, vacate, rodent and complaint records — including day-care complaints filed at the address — to the exact building, and a tour checklist built from that center's record.

A single report is $9, and getting several at once brings the per-report price down — 3 for $20, 5 for $30, $5 each beyond (full pricing). You pick your centers on the compare page and unlock them together, so there's nothing to track. Once you unlock a center, that report stays live and updates free for a year; a week before it lapses we'll email you, and renewing (for less than the first report) keeps it current. We don't run ads or sell leads to daycares, and we'll never sell your personal information. Sales are final once a report is delivered; if something's wrong with yours, like the wrong center or a page that won't load, email us and we'll make it right.
